The festival Arena di Verona was first held in 1913 in occasion of Giuseppe Verdi's 100th birth anniversary. Then, the most famous opera written by Verdi was performed in the spectacular scenery of the Arena, which became the biggest open air theatre in the world: the record is still unbeaten.
The impressiveness of the Roman amphitheatre, the high quality of the performed shows and its artists, the Italian charming atmosphere... it is a great combination that makes this Festival a must-go event for anyone who love operas. An event everyone should experience once in their life.
