The "Rossini Opera Festival" has taken place in Pesaro - Rossini's birthplace and UNESCO Creative City of Music - since 1980. It is the only festival entirely dedicated to the Italian composer. Famous and lesser-known operas and concerts are performed in the Adriatic coastal town, reviving the musical heritage connected with Gioachino Rossini.
The "Rossini Opera Festival" is one of the most important events with regard to Italian opera, thanks to its constant innovation and the use of young performers.
The "Rossini Opera Festival" is a great opportunity to discover Rossini not only as an artist, but also as a man - a man with an amazing personality and a great passion for good food. Moreover, Rossini was born in one of the most important regions for Italian art. It is a region worth visiting through a time travel back in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
The 2020 Rossini Opera Festival will feature 2 new productions: "Moïse et Pharaon", "Elisabetta, regina d’Inghilterra" (Elizabeth, Queen of England) and "La cambiale di matrimonio" (The Bill of Marriage).
